We stayed here last year and chose to return this year because Villa Serena is a special place. The rooftop terrace is the perfect place to relax with a book and observe the volcano El Fuego. The courtyard is full of pretty flowering plants and has nice little tables where breakfast is served. We have stayed on the main level as well as on the upper level and enjoyed each room. The hotel is in a very quiet area and we were never bothered by noises. This is a well-run hotel and everyone who works there is kind and professional.

Friendly little hotel away from the hectic streets in the center. The staff was super friendly. The rooftop terrace has great views for an evening drink (but too hot for during the day). They were super kind and gifted us a bottle of wine for our honeymoon, despite only a 1 night stay when we decided to stay longer in Antigua.

The beauty of the place was extraordinary -- views of the volcanoes and sunsets from the 2 rooftops, as well as the gardens inside. Room was just fine -- one of my friends said her bed was hard -- but overall all 5 of us were totally delighted with our stay, and the staff could not have been sweeter or more accommodating of a number of special requests.

We loved all the beautiful plants and the view from the roof. The breakfast was excellent. We especially liked the generous portion of scrambled eggs cooked with tomatoes and onions (our request). The pancakes were some of the best we’ve ever eaten.

Everything and everyone! We stayed in the smallest room for three days and one of the largest rooms for a week and both rooms were pretty and functional. We consistently had hot showers. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. The property is located in a quiet residential area so it is a bit of a walk to restaurants but that meant it was very quiet at all times.

- quiet location - helpful staff - room was clean and always smelled good - free filtered water - cozy colonial style house and great rooftop with nice views - we liked that there was a cupboard to put our stuff - we were able to leave some things here during our hike - helped us arrange an airport transfer

Being situated slightly outside of the main area, it was very quiet at nighttime, but still only a very short walk, less than 10 minutes into Antigua main streets. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, we booked all our Antigua tours and transfers through them with no issues. The breakfast and breakfast area are also lovely, would highly recommend the Chapin breakfast!

Everything from the staff, the location, the breakfast, the pick up from the airport, and the beauty of the hotel itself is spectacular. The terrace is beautiful and you can see volcan Fuego erupt from it. I was supposed to do the overnight Volcan Acatenango hike but got sick so I needed another place to stay at the last minute and their staff kindly booked me into their hotel hotel and helped me check in early. Highly recommend if you’re staying in Antigua!

Villa Serena is a beautiful small boutique hotel with abotu 10 rooms. The hotel and rooms are nice but the highlight is the small interior plaza for sitting, eating breakfast, working, etc. Our rate included breakfast each morning which was delicious. There is also a wonderful rooftop terrace with city and volcano views. The staff were wonderful.

You get what you pay. Simple and small room, nice inner yard. Laudry service was cheap and fast. Breakfast was quite good. Location is convenient
